BADAMI DEVELOPMENT PROJECT Project Description and Environmental Assessment

BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. (BPXA) is evaluating the opportunity to develop the Badami oil field. When compared with other North Slope projects, the proposed Badami Development Project is relatively small in scope. It involves an onshore production well pad, an onshore facilities pad, a 27.9-mile b...

It involves an onshore production well pad, an onshore facilities pad, a 27.9-mile buried pipeline, a dock, a short in-field road system, gravel sources, and an airstrip. There are no plans for an access road to connect Badami with existing Prudhoe Bay area facilities. The field is located primarily offshore beneath Mikkelsen Bay on Alaska's North Slope approximately 25 miles east of existing North Slope oil field development. The purpose of this document is to support project permit applications by describing the proposed project and evaluating its potential environmental impact. The description of the planned Badami project as contained in this document represents the extent of development conceptually planned at this time. It is likely that, as project engineering evolves, permits will be modified, and the overall footprint of the project may be reduced. In 1995, BPXA plans to drill two appraisal wells (Badami #4 and Badami #5) to further delineate the Badami reservoir. These wells will be located offshore and drilled Text north slope Prudhoe Bay Alaska Unknown Mikkelsen ENVELOPE(-67.129,-67.129,-68.749,-68.749) Mikkelsen Bay ENVELOPE(-67.250,-67.250,-68.667,-68.667)
