Description
Summary:402 proposals were received; 208 were approved; 38 were Antarctic; 59 were Bipolar. This document includes the 97 Antarctic and Bipolar proposals. Most of the approved proposals represent clusters of original Expressions of Interest. Several of the approved proposals may be linked to proposals that although not approved were encouraged to join existing clusters. At this stage discussions are being held between principal investigators to work through those details. Thus the final appearance of some of the approved proposals may change slightly in due course. In that context a few Bipolar proposals that may appears to be entirely Arctic have been included here because of the likelihood that they will be combined with some non-approved Antarctic proposal. The honeycomb diagram attached shows how the approved proposals were distributed between the Arctic and Antarctic, and how they were classified into one or other of 9 categories: Earth, Land, People, Oceans
