different developmental stages of Buddenbrockia plumatellae, an endoparasite in phylactolaemates. We applied fluorescent staining and confocal laser scanning microscopy in order to reconstruct the architecture and development of the musculature. This was a really nice thing to do, because it turned out that the worms, which look rather unspectacular from exterior, exhibit surprisingly complicated (and beautiful) patterns in their musculature. Furthermore, we used field emission SEM and X-ray tomography to search for additional morphological characters that could help to interpret the strange morphology and phylogenetic affinities of these animals. Currently I am still analyzing large amounts of image data and hope that I can show some images on one of the next meetings.
