Description
Summary:Between the cultures of economic development and the economics of cultural production The object of the study is to examine that an entrepreneurship, or Sami way of entrepreneurship, needs to be explained on basis of particular histories of places and lifemodes. The process might be explained on how economic structures and institutions are expected to functioning in what is called prototypical entrepreneurial agency. The characteristics of such a “geography of the entrepreneurship ” means that entrepreneurship, which are embedded to place and ways of life (genre de vie), are thought to form a coordinated geographic continuity within the entire Sapmi 1. However, in this study the range are reduced to a minor territorial area of the whole economic-geographic space. The study starts with the assumption that networks in small (family) businesses in changing conditions are a widely spread way to organize economic activity. The context and local conditions, which are in the focus here, include traditional and more modern Sami businesses, in witch the life-mode and place-specific circumstances are regarded as glue that keeps the Sami space unified. Regarding the effects of the entrepreneurship on regional development in place is not studied. Nevertheless the life-mode and place-specific circumstances are necessarily affected by the entrepreneurial activities and further of the changes in the surroundings, caused by nature phenomena, market-, official and private ”assisting structural ” or business policy failures, etc. That concern could be the necessity link between the topic of this dissertation and the topic of the NOLD PhD-course, but not taken to account in this study.
