Among the fossil bats from the Ust'-Kanskaya cave only M. cf. schaubi is reported here for the first time as a fossil species that became extinct in the Altai Mts. and remains so to the present day. The scarcity of the fossil bat material and the peculiar aggregation of bat taxa are evidence in favour of the accumulation of bat bones as ae result of natural mortality during hibernation. The unique findings of M. cf. sсhaubi and some archaic voles (Allophaiomys and Mimomys) enable some speculations about the age of certain layers and beds of the Ust'-Kanskaya cave.
