Principal investigators are the Directorate-General Communication and on occasion other departments of the European Commission or the European Parliament. Over time, candidate and accession countries were included in the Standard Eurobarometer Series. Selected questions or modules may not been surveyed in each sample. Please consult the basic questionnaire for more information on country filter instructions or other questionnaire routing filters. In this study the following modules (standard & special modules) are included: 1. Parlemeter, 2. Standard EU and trend questions, 3. Perceptions of the Europe 2020 strategy, 4. Financial and economic crisis, 5. Media use habits. Topics: 1. Parlemeter: reception of information about the European Parliament in the media; self-rated of knowledge about the European Parliament; sources of information used; perception of the European Parliament as a dynamic, democratic, close to the citizens, unknown, inefficient; overall image of the EU Parliament; knowledge test: seating plan of the MEPs in the European Parliament according to their nationality or according to their political affiliation; decisions of the European Parliament, depending on the interests of the Member States or depending onthe political affinities; knowledge test: direct election of the European parliament by the citizens of each Member State, each country has same number of Members of the European Parliament, the EU’s budget is voted jointly by the European Parliament and the Member States; European laws have to be voted jointly by the European Parliament and the Member States; the role of the European Parliament in the running of the EU; desire for more or less influence of the European Parliament; issues that should be given priority (common EU foreign policy, effective security and defence policy to fight international crises, ...
