Chapter one presents the characteristics of the glass eel fisheries in the Bay of Biscay. Chapter two analyses in detail the fluctuations of glass eel catches in the basin of Adour. Chapter four proposes a modelling of hydro-climatic condtions on the variability of the glass eel catches. Chapter five presents two approaches for estimating the biomass, using a sampling protocol of the glass eel run based on a behavioural model. Chapter six deals with the development of mono and two-dimensional hydrodynamic models. Chapter seven describes the intensity of colonization and the variations of yellow eel densities on the catchment area of the Adour river and Gaves. Prospects for this work are evoked; they are related to the valorization and the transfer of knowledge towards the managers within both the framework of the ICES and the framework of the INTERREGIII program. The development of this work should also include the problem of the impact of contaminants and degradation of eel habitats on the future of this resource. / Le projet EC 99/023 présente dans une première partie les caractéristiques de la pêcherie civelière dans le golfe de Gascogne. La seconde partie analyse plus précisément la variabilité des captures de civelles, sur le bassin de l'Adour. La quatrième partie propose une modélisation des conditions hydroclimatiques sur la variabilité des captures de civelles. La cinquième partie permet, à partir d'un protocole d'échantillonnage du flux de civelles basé sur un modèle comportemental, d'estimer la biomasse par deux approches. La cinquième partie traite du développement de modèles hydrodynamiques mono et bidimensionnels. Le dernier chapitre décrit l'intensité de colonisation et la variation des densités d'anguilles jaunes sur le bassin versant de l'Adour et des Graves. Les perspectives de ce travail sont évoquées et concernent la valorisation et le transfert des connaissances vers les gestionnaires dans le cadre du programme CIEM et dans le cadre du programme INTERREGIIIB. Le développement de ces travaux devrait englober également le problème de l'impact des contaminants et la dégradation des habitats colonisables sur le devenir de cette ressource.
