A study of the ecotypical variability for three plant taxa that are colonising the disturbed milieux of the supra-forest mountain areas in the Maurienne and upper Tarentais regions

In order to determine the criteria for the constitution of a grass plant material adapted to the repopulation of disturbed sites in mountain areas, the infraspecific genetic variation of an adaptive nature determined by the conditions of the supra-forest mountain milieux was studied in Savoy in thre...

These were two Graminaceae, Dactylis glomerata L and Poa alpina L and one leguminous plant, the "complex" (Lotus corniculatus L./ Lotus alpinus DC. Schleicher). Genetic investigations (isozymic analyses and RFLP of chloroplastic ADN) and experiments to observe the plasticity and phenology of flowering, the morphology, growth and the reproductive capacity to genotypes that are representative of the population at the sub-alpine level were carried out. Suitable behaviour for the reproduction were shown. The existence of an "alpine" complex is shown. These results lead to the favouring of the development of a plant material of very high altitude for Poa alpina based on populations at the alpine level, of a plant material for dry calcicole milieux of sub-alpine regions based on individual "reichenbachii" for Dactyla and for sweet clover, of a "native" plant material based on alpine populations.
