International audience A Great Shearwater Ardenna gravis, observed and photographed off Amsterdam Island, on 2 February 2017, was a rare but not exclusivesighting of this species from the eastern Indian Ocean. We summarize the occurrence of this species in the southern Indian Ocean based onsurveys conducted during the period 1985–2017.
