isbn: 978-5-9907724-5-8 International audience The paper reports some issues of the marine ecology in the Barents Sea region. Currently, there is a high level of environmental risk in coastal zone of Arctic. The Arctic ocean basin is not only a unique geographical region. It also has important environmental and strategic functions of the world environment. At the same time, the Arctic basin functions as a geographical buffer zone, a border through which a constant flow of chemical substances, including pollutants, passes. The paper briefly discusses current environmental problems of the region: levels and trends of the pollution by pesticides, PCBs, indicators of high risk of the marine environment. В настоящее время существует высокий уровень экологического риска в прибрежной зоне Арктики. Бассейн Северного Ледовитого океана является не только уникальным географическим регионом, но имеет важные экологические и стратегические функции. Одновременно, Арктический бассейн является своего рода зоной географического буфера, границей, через которую проходит постоянный поток химических веществ, в т.ч. загрязнителей. Статья рассматривает современные экологические проблемы региона: уровни, основные тенденции загрязнения пестицидами и ПХБ, индикаторами высокого риска окружающей среды моря.
