The goal of the CIMCA 2005 conference is to provide a medium for the exchange of ideas between theoreticians and practitioners to address the important issues in computational intelligence for modelling, control and automation. The conference will consist of both plenary sessions and contributory sessions, focusing on theory, implementation and applications of computational intelligence techniques for modelling, control and automation. The conference has attracted a large number of full paper submissions from over 50 countries including: Algeria, Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, South Africa, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Netherlands, Turkey, UK, and USA.
