I will not dwell on the conditions of Storstrømmen, because this barrier has been adequately described elsewhere. For two reasons we hoped that the crossing might not be too difficult. First, there had been an unusually heavy snowfall in the winter and, secondly, Angus with his dog team was working with me so that we could divide our loads between two sledges.
