RésuméDans un contexte muséal centré sur la beauté de l’objet et la mise en valeur d’une culture canadienne française, seul le patrimoine amérindien assimilable à l’univers religieux ou artistique français des xviie et xviiie siècles pourra être valorisé. Même si, au début du xxe siècle, les folkloristes s’ouvrent à la connaissance ethnographique, leurs recherches abordent essentiellement la tradition populaire canadienne française et lorsque l’altérité amérindienne est nommée, elle est assimilée au sein du « nous ». La reconnaissance d’une collection amérindienne constituée au musée du Séminaire et au musée de la Province aboutira cependant en 1983 à la création du musée de la Civilisation et à la séparation nette des collections d’art et d’ethnographie. In a museum context focussed on the beauty of the object of French Canadian culture, only Indian artefacts assimilable to the christian and eighteenth or seventeenth centuries French artistic categories are promoted. At the beginning of the twentieth century, folk studies developed in French Canada but their field of research dealt with popular French Canadian tradition and when Indian culture was treated, it was connected to the Euro-Canadian influence. Recognition of a North American Indian collection built in the two most important museums of Quebec, such as the Musée du séminaire and the Provincial Museum, will however succeed in 1983 with the setting up of the Musée de la civilisation, leading to the distinction of art and ethnographic collections. Ein künstlerisches Erbe, das durchaus mit dem der religiösen und künstlerischen Welt Frankreichs des 17. und 18. Jahrhunderts vergleichbar ist. Als Forscher sich Anfang des 20.
