Technologies cognitives du voyage chamanique. Cas iakoutes

En Sibérie, la qualité d’agent ne se définit pas seulement par la faculté d’exercer des pouvoirs causaux ou par la possession d’une intériorité, mais aussi par une capacité de mouvement sur un territoire propre et des routes familières. Au cours du rituel chamanique iakoute, les participants partagent une expérience cognitive collective consistant à coordonner le territoire virtuel des esprits et l’espace réel de la scène rituelle. L’hypothèse défendue dans cet article est que cette coordination est rendue possible par trois types de procédés mis en œuvre par le chamane – linguistiques, gestuels et matériels –, qui se renforcent conjointement pour former ensemble une « technologie cognitive ». In Siberia, the quality of agent is defined not only by a capacity to exert causal power or by the possession of interiority, but also by a skill to move on a proper territory and on familiar tracks. Among Yakuts, during the shamanic ritual, participants share a collective cognitive experience, consisting in coordinating spirits’ virtual territory with the real space of the ritual scene. The hypothesis defended in this article is that this coordination is made possible through three kinds of processes performed by the shaman : linguistic, gestural and material, and that these processes reinforce each other and form together a « cognitive technology ».
