Antarctic seals carry antibodies against seal herpesvirus
Weddell seals in the Antarctic had high neutralizing antibody titres to seal- and feline herpesvirus and none against phocine distemper virus. Crabeater seals were free of antibodies. This suggests an evolutionary wide spread of seal herpesvirus.
