On their way to Peace country, Irene’s parents chose Athabasca. Irene grew up in a mixed farming community in Grosmont. Received teaching certificate from University of Alberta. Married Joe Boisvert and had 5 children in 7 years. Taught school. Played in family band to provide family income.
