Summary: | Master's thesis analyses distribution of Community importance forest habitats in Mikalinė forest. Object of the research: European Community importance forest habitats in Mikalinė forest. Aim of the research: to examine the Community importance forest habitats in Mikalinė forest. Research methods: in accordance with the recommendations given in the European Community importance natural habitats guide, woody and herbaceous vegetation typical and characteristic plant species, woody and herbaceous vegetation projection coverage are evaluated. Research results: The studies showed that in the test area, the European importance forest habitat occupies 130.66 ha (10.89 % of the total area). In the test area four forest habitat types were found: 9050 Herb-rich spruce, 9080* Fennoscandian deciduous forests, 9160 Hornbeam and 91E0* Alluvial forests. Two types of habitats have priority: 9080* Herb-rich spruce and 91E0* alluvial forests. The largest inventoried forest habitat: 9050 Herb-rich spruce (67.66 hectares). According to the abundance of herbaceous plants, the most of all distinguished 91E0* Alluvial forest habitat. It is rich in moisture-loving herbs, as well as soils of this habitat are fertile, so nitrophilic plant species are found. The largest projection tree layer coverage prevailed in 9160 Hornbeam habitat. |
