Description
Summary:Although the Arctic is still one of the coldest places on Earth, it has been warming twice as fast as the rest of the planet and sea ice is melting at a pace that has not been seen in 1,500 years. Spatial distributions are shifting and new areas are ice-free and open to exploration. At the same time, there is a lack of knowledge on baseline distributions and tools for species identification of fishes in the Arctic Region. The aim of Marine Fishes of the Arctic Region is to ameliorate this lack.
