Whether seabird harvest is a real conservation concern is often not addressed or poorly documented in the circumpolar region due to a lack of information on the status of seabird populations and the numbers of birds and eggs harvested. However, in this report several countries clearly leave the impression that harvest has played a key role at some point in population development for some seabird species.
