Description
Summary:South-eastern Iceland is characterized by extensive outwash plains (sandurs) supplied with bulky sediments from proglacial floods. The aggradation on sandurs is accordingly accompanied by fast shoreline progradation of beaches and barrier spits, especially after heavy glacier burst (Myrdalssandur, Skeidararsandur).
