Description
Summary:Their reproduction period, early stages and biology are known through previous works (cf. especially the works by L. Bianco (1), R. S. Clark (2), Ehrenbaum (3), etc.). On the contrary, their growth and longevity, their age and size when reaching their first sexual maturity, the variation of the number of their vertebrae, are, to our knowledge, not or hardly known. We aimed to fill this gap, at least partially, with this work. Concurrently, we made an inventory of the North Atlantic stock over the winter 1932-1933.
