Analyse historique de la production conchylicole du Bassin de Marennes-Oléron et essai d'estimation empirique du potentiel conchylicole

The analysis of the official statistics of commercialised production of oysters (.Crassostrea angutata and Crassostrea gigas ) is achieved from 1866 to 1984 in term of their numbers and weights for the bay of Marennes-Oleron. The number of sanitary labels, multiplied by the mean weight of a crate can also give out the commercialised production provided it is increased by the bias and decreased by the exterior production of the bay . Thus the production of Portuguese oysters is only 45 000 tons from 1948 to 1957 with a maximum of 52, 000 tons for respectively 70 000 tons and 280 000 tons for the statistics . AIso, after the epizooties of Crassostrea angulata the production, fell down to 25 000 tons in 1971 according to the number of sanitary labels against 5 000 tons for the statistics. The collection of the data about transportation of oysters by railway allows to compare the results and validates the estimations based on the sanitary labels. L'analyse des statistiques officiels des productions commercialisées d'huîtres creuses ( Crassostrea angulata et Crassoatrea gigas ) est réalisée de 1886 à 1984 en nombre et en poids d'huître pour le bassin de Marennes Oléron. Les étiquettes de salubrité multipliées par le poids moyen d'un colis permettent aussi de déterminer la production commercialisée, à condition qu'elle soit augmentée des biais et minorée des productions extérieures au bassin. Ainsi la production d'huître portugaise n'est que de 45 000 tonnes de 1948 à 1957 avec un maximum de 52 000 tonnes pour respectivement 70 000 tonnes et 280 000 tonnes pour les statistiques. De même, après les épizooties de Crassostrea angulata, la production est descendue en 1971 à 25 000 tonnes d'après les étiquettes sanitaires contre 6 000 tonnes pour les statistiques. Le recueil des données concernant le transport d' huîtres par chemin de fer permet de comparer les résultats et valide les estimations basées sur les étiquettes sanitaires.
