It is here that he moved a half a mile down the creek and continued his adult life developing as an artist. Karl’s art is derived from his surroundings - scavenged objects, articles left by time and circumstance. He also manipulates classic materials with oils, tar, and canvas. He has learned to cultivate his time into his art, as he has travelled long distances in remote areas of Nunavut, N.W.T, the Yukon and British Columbia. It is in these uninhabited places that he has found time and resources within his being to contemplate his time on this planet. These short fleeting glimpses of his travels as well as his life as a rural resident feed and haunt his artistic drive. Still Image Nunavut Yukon Arca (BC's Digital Treasures)
