Description
Summary:Letters - Various documents pertaining to The Athabasca and District Board of Trade from September 1943 through October 1944 are collected here, including documents from/to the Athabasca Post-War Reconstruction Committee, with a formal request for a bridge to be constructed over the Athabasca River to increase trade and transportation. There are many letters written with regards to the construction of the bridge, some also coming from various other groups such as the Berwyn Men's Group. Another series of letters contain discussions about the town developing self-sustaining garbage removal, as suggested by the Board of Trade. There is also a series of letters from The Canadian Department of Trade and Commerce, Commercial Intelligence Service, regarding Canada's Import Trade. The letters request a list of importer's in Athabasca and District to assist with the new regulations that were being put into place in 1944 (44 pages)
