To demonstrate the reliability of the XCTD data, test casts were assessed against repeat casts using Sea- Bird SBE 37-SM MicroCAT CTD calibrated for cold-water conditions. A TSK TS-MK-21 expendable XCTD system was used to gather oceanographic data, which were recorded on a laptop computer.
