Volume of potable water , Casey station, 2010-2014

These data were retrieved to determine the variation in water requirements based on the station population at Casey. As such, these data were segmented into start/end dates where the population of the station was constant, thereby allowing for a consistent denominator Below is a table which has been...

Indicator,Source,Method,Notes Number of people on station,Plumbers log book kept in pump house at Casey station,Plumber counts number of tags on muster board,This method of person counting may be different to that used by station leaders. It is the only consistent place where this data is recorded on a daily basis Water pumped,Plumbers log book kept in pump house at Casey station,Plumber reads water meter prior to pumping. Reading becomes end of previous day / start of next day,Apparent consumption can be determined by subtracting the start value from the end value. Note that an adjustment factor of 17% (reduction) was introduced in the apparent consumption calculations. The foundation for this adjustment is not well documented, but was anecdotally associated with the flow meter being too close to an elbow. However, this has not been included in this data; all data is raw. Kitchen CW Meter,Kitchen cold water meter,Direct measurement. Data was only recorded for 2008 and 2011.
