Description
Summary:The Common Ocean-ice Reference Experiments (CORE) datasets are generated combining reanalysis with satellite data. Large and Yeager have provided algorithms for correcting atmospheric data products to facilitate the integration of ocean and sea ice models. Their algorithms have been implemented at the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) to produce both a Corrected Normal Year Forcing (CNYF) and Corrected Internanual Forcing (CIAF) datasets. CORE is sponsored by the Clivar Working Group for Ocean Model Development (WGOMD). CORE.v2 from Large and Yeager was released during in 2008 and updates just the interannually varying forcing, now extending from 1958-2006.
