Description
Summary:Conjugate observation at Iceland started in 1984 as a collaborative study between Iceland University and NIPR. Continuous observation with an upper atmosphere physics monitoring system, including a 3-axis fluxgate magnetometer, induction magnetometer, riometer, VLF receiver, has been carried out at three main stations, Husafell, Tjornes, and Aedey. At Husafell and Tjornes, the imaging riometer is also installed, and auroral optical observation is also carried out during equinox period. A new all-sky CCD imager was installed in 2005 at Husafell, which is operated fully automatically during the whole auroral season.
