Summary: | 23 p. : ill. 26 cm. Includes bibliographical references (p. 22-23). "A series of procolophonid fossils is described from the Lower Triassic Fremouw Formation of Antarctica. All the specimens are identified as Procolophon trigoniceps Owen, typically found in the Lystrosaurus Zone of the Beaufort Series in South Africa. The presence of this one species in Africa and Antarctica lends additional weight to previously published paleontological evidence (notably the distribution of dicynodont reptile Lystrosaurus in Gondwanaland) indicating a close ligation between the two continents at the beginning of the Mesozoic"--P.
