By minimizing the total expected costs including inspection, repair and failure costs during the lifetime an optimal inspection and repair strategy can be determined. The decision variables are the number of inspections, the time intervals between inspections and the inspection qualities. A parameter study is performed and an updated inspection plan is determined after the first inspection has taken place.
