Description
Summary:These are data that were used to analyze diet and reproductive relationships of alcids in the Gulf of Maine. Monitoring began in 1995 at Machias Seal Island, with two additional colonies added in 2005 (Matinicus Rock, Seal Island National Wildlife Refuge). Diet is converted from feeding observations into estimates of mass. Reproductive data are summarized to represent up to eight major variables: mass at banding, condition at banding, chick growth, mass at fledge, condition at fledge, fledge success, productivity, and hatch success. Environmental data includes local sea surface temperature and rainfall.
