Description
Summary:The 2016 Photochemical Halogen and Ozone Experiment: Mass Exchange in the Lower Troposphere (PHOXMELT) field campaign was conducted on the Barrow Environmental Observatory tundra near Utqiagvik (Barrow), AK (71° 16.500 N, 156° 38.426 W) from March-May 2016. Chemical ionization mass spectrometry measurements of a suite of atmospheric trace gases were conducted at ~1 m above the snowpack. The goal was to examine tropospheric halogen chemistry above the Arctic snowpack during spring through snowmelt in May to improve our understanding of air-snow interactions that significantly influence atmospheric composition. Here we report 1 h average mole ratios of ambient ClO, Cl 2 , HO 2 NO 2 , ClNO 2 , HOBr, BrO, N 2 O 5 , BrCl, Br 2 , and O 3 .
