In-situ stream temperature monitoring, central Alaska, 2008-2017

The National Park Service (NPS) has collected stream temperature data at 25 sites throughout the Central Alaska Network (CAKN). Sampling for each site occurred between 2008 and 2017. The majority of the sites are ongoing monitoring sites; however, three sites were cancelled after 2008. This dataset...

Sampling for each site occurred between 2008 and 2017. The majority of the sites are ongoing monitoring sites; however, three sites were cancelled after 2008. This dataset is part of a larger project to collect a comprehensive statewide inventory of current and historic continuous monitoring locations for stream and lake temperature. These data were provided by the National Park Service for archival as part of an effort between the State of Alaskan Salmon and People (SASAP, https://alaskasalmonandpeople.org/) and the Alaska Center for Conservation Science's Alaska Online Aquatic Temperature Site (AKOATS, http://accs.uaa.alaska.edu/aquatic-ecology/akoats/) to make stream temperature data more readily available for researchers. This package includes 89 stream temperature data files. File names include the SiteID, AKOATS ID, start date, and end date (e.g. CrystalCreek_1589_2010_2012.csv). When duplicate measurements were taken, "DUP" is included in the file name. This package also includes site level metadata (SiteLevelMetadata_Simmons.csv) and spot temperature data recorded with a sonde (SpotTempData.csv).
