Summary: | The samples and data presented were collected aboard the United States Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) Healy and the Research Vessel (RV) Polarstern in the summer-fall of 2015 during the Arctic GEOTRACES program. The USCGC Healy sailed from Dutch Harbor through Bering Strait along a western leg (~180 W) across the Makarov Basin to the North Pole returning south along an eastern leg (~150 W) during August 9–October 12. The RV Polarstern sailed across the Barents Sea, over the Gakkel Ridge and into the Makarov Basin and back (August 17-October 14). She rendezvoused with the USCGC Healy at the North Pole on September 7, and the two ships conducted an inter-calibration at the North Pole. Water samples were collected from CTD/rosette bottle casts for the characterization of dissolved organic matter presented in this report.
