It was conducted by the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR) Marginal Ice Zone Departmental Research Initiative (DRI) program to better understand the atmosphere-ice-ocean interactions that are taking place as ice in the Beaufort Sea retreats in summer and a seasonal marginal ice zone (MIZ) evolves. The field program took place in the summer of 2014. |
