Rookery Island Bird Abundance as a Function of Habitat Change: A 40 year study

Rookery islands contain a variety of breeding coastal waterbirds on the South-Central Texas Gulf Coast. This study uses occupancy and abundance observations from 1973-2015 to investigate the relationship between bird abundance and vegetation/nesting dynamics on rookery islands over 40 years.
