Sap-flux measured transpiration for a mature larch forest in northeastern Siberia (VIPER project)

This data set includes measurements of sap-flux and associated environmental and biological variables required to derive measures of canopy transpiration and canopy stomatal conductance for a larch forest in northeastern Siberia. Data were collected annually for periods of 3-6 weeks during the growi...

Data were collected annually for periods of 3-6 weeks during the growing season (June-August) from 2013-2015. Sap flux was measured in the same plants each year. A total of 17 sensors were used to measure 3 shrubs and 11 trees, where 3 trees where measured with two pair of sensors; one each on the north and south sides of each tree. Plants measured only once were instrumented on the north side. The data set includes raw sap-flux data, and also environmental data from the site, as well as R scripts to calculate whole-tree transpiration and stomatal conductance. The environmental data are included as separate files, and data on tree size including diameter at breast height, sapwood area, and leaf area are included in the script, with associated references where applicable.
