Summary: | This snow melt transect was set in place to create a foundation for snow melt throughout the field season within the Arctic System Science (ARCSS) grid in Barrow, Alaska. This grid has coordinates that are labelled A thru K and 1 thru 11 for each N-S and E-W row of markers respectively. The transect begins 2 meters west of ARCSS grid point D09 and extends south ending 2 meters west of ARCSS grid point F09. The total length of the transect is 200 meters. Measurements were taken at every 2 meters along the transect on the east side of the transect to avoid any disturbances. The location of the snow melt transect was chosen using ArcGIS tools. |
