Summary: | Pygmy sperm whale preadipocytes were pre-treated with various concentrations of oil/dispersant mixture, and then induced for adipogenic differentiation to assess the obesogenicity of crude oil. Lipid accumulation was quantified using AdipoRed staining and absorbance measurements using the Typhoon scanner. Results indicate that crude oil displays an obesogenic dose-dependent response curve in these cells. |
