Description
Summary:These data are optical measurements of irradiance and fluorescence collected during continuous long track surface measurements made on the Endeavor 168 Cruise between Reyjavik, Iceland and a 60n station. Data parameters include: position, incident par (400-700 nm) irradiance in umole/sec/m2, and MLML incubator scalar par (400-700 nm) irradiance in umole/sec/m2. Calculated rescale flourescence (680 nm) values were also included; the relative units are equal to pigment amounts measured in mg/m3. These data were collected as part of the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS)/ North Atlantic Bloom Experiment (NABE) by Moss Landing Marine Laboratory, California. The Endeavor 168 data are contained two files: E198MLML.hor and E198sail.hor. A readme.txt file (MLML Tech Pub 90-1) overviews the data parameters and methodology. This research was funded by NSF grant OCE-8813568, and The Office of Naval Research grant # N-000-14-84-C-0619. These data are calculated optical measurements of fluorescence collected during continuous long track surface measurements made on the JGOFS Atlantis II Cruise 119.4 between the Azores and Iceland. Data parameters include: position, salinity, incident par (400-700) irradiance in umole/sec/m2, MLML incubator par scalar irradiance in umole/sec/m2, and rescaled flourescence (685 nm) mg/m3. "Rescaled flourescence" units are numerically equivalent to chlorophyll a concentrations in ug/liter. The Atlantis II data are contained two files: A1194.hor and A1195.hor. a readme.txt file (MLML Tech Pub 90-1) overviews the data parameters and methodology. This research was funded by NSF grant OCE-8813568, and the Office of Naval Research Grant # N-000-14-84-C-0619.
