Summary: | These data are the SeaWifs (Sea-Wide Field Sensor) calibration /validation historical pigment data base as recieved by NODC's Ocean Climate Laboratory. Data were submitted from the Goddard Space Flight Center and contain over 333,000 records of pigment measurements from the late 1950's to 1988. Some records are dated 1900. Data were collected worldwide. Fields in each line are tab-delimited; the record format is contained in the documentation file. Parameters include: Date, Location, Depth, Cruise, Station, Chlorophyll a, b, and c as mg/cubic meter, total pigments as mg/cubic meter, phaeopigment in mg/cubic meter, and chlorophyll a + phaeopigment in mg/cubic meter.
