Summary: | This accession contains contains chlorophyll data collected from 1958-1988 using multiple ships. Marine pigments, productivity, and associated chemistry data were collected in NE Atlantic (limit-40 W) and NW Atlantic (limit-40 W) as part of the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS). This data base has approx. 12,000 stations in JGOFS format. Any particulars on the station data can be found in JGR-Oceans, 97:2279-2293; titled The Remote Sensing of Ocean Primary Productivity. Data was submitted by William Balch, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS), University of Miami. Also, these data have been copied onto CD-Rom at Goddard for distribution with the CZCS.
