A bstract — Experience of dental practice by a Medical Practitioner on expeditions to three Australian Antarctic stations between 1978 and 1982 is described. The incidence of specific problems is reviewed, and includes fracture damage, lost amalgam, new carious lesions, and dentinal erosions. Comparisons are made with past studies of Antarctic dental health. Suggestions for uniformity of pre‐departure dental examination are offered relating to future dental care on Antarctic stations.
