Summary The non‐breeding of migratory and non‐migratory birds caused by different factors. The correlation between the numbers of lemming and the breeding of the Long‐tailed Skua, Greenland Falcon, and Snowy Owl. The effect of snowfall on ice conditions, with the consequent effect on food‐supply and the availability of the nesting sites of the Arctic Tern and Sabine's Gull. The effect of snowfall on the distribution of the Rock‐Ptarmigan and its food supply. Weather conditions affecting courtship displays, etc. The light factor is discussed in different aspects.
