A hermaphroditic Arctic charr from Loch Rannoch, Scotland
An individual Arctic charr from Loch Rannoch was found to contain a gonad the anterior portion of which consisted of ovarian tissue. This is an extremely rare condition in salmonid fish and in this instance is possibly the result of environmental contamination.
