First occurrence and new length record for the bigeye thresher shark in the north‐east Atlantic
The first confirmed record for the bigeye thresher shark Alopias superciliosus caught in the far north‐east Atlantic is described here. The specimen was the longest and heaviest recorded to date. Above‐average summer sea temperatures occurred in the catch area in 1995.
