Occurrence of Phyllodistomum folium (Olfers) (Digenea) in the eel, Anguilla anguilla (Linnaeus), in a small river

The occurrence of Phyllodistomum folium in a population of eels was studied throughout one year. Abundance exhibited a summer peak. Gravid adults were found in all months, indicating that eels can serve as a definitive host for this parasite.
