Redescription of Iphimediella serrata (Crustacea, Amphipoda, Iphimediidae) from the Antarctic Ocean

Abstract A redescription of the amphipod Iphimediella serrata (Schellenberg, 1926) is presented. Description
Summary:Abstract A redescription of the amphipod Iphimediella serrata (Schellenberg, 1926) is presented. It can easily be identified by the following characters: — paired dorsal, serrate processes on pereonite 6–7 and pleonite 1–2, — dostal carina on pleonite 3, — ventral margin of coxal plates 1–4 serrate, — pereopod 5–7 basis distal and posterior margin serrate; — outer plate of maxilla 2 with long setae. Iphimediella serrata and Iphimediella octodentata (Nicholls, 1938) are synonymous.
