Abstract Aqueous extracts have been prepared from fin, sei, humpback and sperm‐whale livers under conditions similar to those often used for the preparation of extracts for medicinal purposes from the livers of domestic animals. The extracts have been analysed for B‐group vitamins and for mineral constituents, and the data indicate that they should be suitable alternatives to cattle‐liver extracts and to aqueous fish‐liver extracts (Gray, Novellie & Shuttleworth, 1951) in the preparation both of pharmaceuticals and of animal feeding‐stuffs.
