An array of chemically diverse, fluorescent polycyclic compounds is generated by a multicomponent reaction/allylation/cross‐coupling sequence. This sequence allows systematic variation of substituents and ring systems in the polycyclic compounds, much like branches of a tree. These compounds not only bear resemblance to naturally occurring alkaloids, but also display bright blue fluorescence upon irradiation. Details are discussed in the article by E. Ruijter, R. V. A.
